Why CWPAC Endorsed
Representative Chabot uses his voice for the voiceless and most defenseless among us. Representative Chabot authored the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act that banned this gruesome procedure. He is also very involved in ensuring that children are not transported across state lines for abortions. Representative Chabot is actively engaged in fighting Planned Parenthood from moving into his own backyard. He opposes Internet gambling and a land swap for off-reservation gaming. Representative Chabot opposes gay marriage and supports a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between one man and one woman. He firmly believes that “rogue judges and officials” who have allowed same-sex marriages in cities across the country have gone too far.
2008 Race Outlook
In his first years in the House, Representative Chabot was a prime target although redistricting did make his seat safer. This cycle, however, Representative Chabot is facing his toughest reelection campaign since 1998. Recent polls in this district show that his opponent may be 2 points up, and this may be a pick-up seat for the liberal Pelosi crowd.
Cook Report – Toss up
