Concerned Women Political Action Committee Endorses Pro-Family, Pro-Life Legislator, War Hero, Kevin Calvey

Former state Representative/Bronze Star recipient is a leading voice for the unborn in Oklahoma

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women Political Action Committee (CWPAC)  has announced its endorsement of Kevin Calvey for Congress in Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District.

Concerned Women PAC is affiliated with Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization with more than 500,000 grassroots members nationwide.

The 5th district congressional seat became open recently when Congresswoman Mary Fallin retired to run for Oklahoma governor.

During his eight year tenure in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Rep. Calvey was known as a pro-life leader.  Calvey introduced bills that would require informed consent before a minor could obtain an abortion, a bill to ban the drug RU-486, as well as cosponsored many others.  Mr. Calvey left the House in 2006 to deployment in Iraq with the National Guard. For his efforts, Mr. Calvey was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

Mr. Calvey has been endorsed by numerous conservative organizations in addition to Concerned Women PAC, including the Oklahoma Rifle Association and the nation’s leading fiscal conservative PAC, The Club for Growth.

“I can think of no one better to continue the conservative legacy that Congresswoman Mary Fallin has left than Kevin Calvey, “said Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of Concerned Women PAC.

“We endorsed Kevin over all others in the race, because not only is he right on all the issues and his service to our country, but because I trust him to lead on the issue of life when he gets to Congress.”

Concerned Women Political Action Committee was started in 2002 to help elect solid pro-family, pro-life conservatives to Congress.  Concerned Women PAC sends out a monthly letter to members encouraging them to financially support candidates like Kevin Calvey.  For more information on this race, please contact Mike Mears at 202-408-4941.
