Stephen Fincher Endorsed

Concerned Women Political Action Committee Endorses Farmer and Gospel Singer Stephen Fincher for Congress in Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District

Stephen is a breath of fresh air and is exactly the kind of citizen legislator this district and country need most right now.

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women Political Action Committee (CWPAC)  has announced its endorsement of Stephen Fincher for Congress in Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District.

Concerned Women PAC is affiliated with Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization with more than 500,000 grassroots members nationwide.

The 8th District congressional seat became an open seat recently when incumbent Congressman John Tanner chose to retire rather than face re- election.   Mr. Fincher has been running since September 1, 2009, and in that short time raised a little over $300,000 for his campaign. Since that time, many observers expect that Stephen will actually raise more than $500,000 by year’s end.

This race is considered a toss up by both the Rothenberg Report and the Cook Political report.  In last year’s presidential contest Arizona Senator and Republican Presidential nominee John McCain carried the district by 56 percent.  Despite the Republican tilt of the district, Congressman Tanner enjoyed relatively easy campaigns, and in fact, in 2008, faced no Republican opposition.  This coming election however was not expected to be an easy one for Mr. Tanner, and with Mr. Fincher’s fundraising prowess, may have led to his decision to retire from the seat.

“Stephen Fincher is a strong man of faith and of conviction. “said Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of Concerned Women PAC.

“We endorsed Stephen over all others in the race, because not only is he right on all the issues, Stephen was willing to work hard and raise the money necessary to get his strong pro-life, pro-family message out.

With his strong grassroots support as well as the financial backing he has received, there is no doubt in my mind that Stephen is in a great position to win this race for conservatives.”

Concerned Women Political Action Committee was started in 2002 to help elect solid pro-family, pro-life conservatives to Congress.  Concerned Women PAC sends out a monthly letter to members encouraging them to financially support candidates like Stephen Fincher.  For more information on this race, please contact Mike Mears at 202-408-4941.
