Concerned Women Political Action Committee Endorses State Senator Randy Hultgren for Congress in Illinois 14th District
Senator Hultgren is a proven pro-life leader who will hold Bill Foster accountable for his liberal votes.
Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women Political Action Committee (CWPAC) announced its endorsement of Illinois State Senator Randy Hultgren in his campaign for Congress in Illinois’ 14th District against liberal Congressman Bill Foster.
Concerned Women PAC is affiliated with Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization with more than 500,000 grassroots members nationwide.
In last year’s presidential contest the 14th District voted for President Obama 55 percent to McCain’s 44 percent. In 2004, then President Bush carried the district with 55 percent. Despite the competitiveness of the district, Rep. Foster has earned himself a reputation as a solid vote for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda.
This year alone, Mr. Foster has voted:
· Against the pro-life Stupak Amendment, which would have forbid insurance companies from covering abortions.
· For the overall government takeover of healthcare despite the recent Rasmussen poll showing nearly 60 percent of Americans oppose this government intrusion.
· For so-called Hate Crimes Statutes, which now include sexual orientation as a protected class.
· For the massive bailout or “stimulus package” passed through Congress earlier in the year.
The Illinois 14th District congressional seat has been rated as a toss up/leans Democrat by the Rothenberg Political Report.
Sen. Randy Hultgren is one of two candidates vying for the Republican nomination to take on Mr. Foster. The primary is February 2, 2010.
“Randy is exactly the type of proven conservative candidate we like to endorse for Congress.” said Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of Concerned Women PAC.
“Whether Randy fights the government from taking over health care, or making sure tax payers don’t have to pay for abortions, to keeping the line on higher taxes, Sen. Hultgren is our choice to take on Bill Foster in 2010.”
Concerned Women Political Action Committee was started in 2002 to help elect solid pro-family, pro-life conservatives to Congress. Concerned Women PAC sends out a monthly letter to members encouraging them to financially support candidates like Illinois State Senator Randy Hultgren.
